Frequently asked questions

Someone who has authority to act on behalf of the business may change signers on the account. Common titles include secretary, officer, member, manager, partner, owner, CEO, CFO, Controller, or COO that can be verified using business identification documents.

You can review your account with a banker. If there are users on your account that you'd like to add as a signer, you'll need to provide the proper documentation to the banker and update your signature card. Typically, this is done at a branch. If you're unable to visit a branch, please call the U.S. Bank Business Service Center at 800-673-3555.

There are two ways to grant digital access to others.
  1. Share access to your business accounts with employees and other trusted individuals through online banking Shared Access. Learn more about Shared Access and how to update and manage.
  2. An authorized requestor can add additional signers to deposit account(s) that grant full account access. To learn more, please visit your local branch or contact the U.S. Bank Business Service Center at 800-673-3555.

Required documentation can vary state to state and by business type, and document names may slightly differ. Generally, you may be asked to bring documentation containing the requestor's full name and title within the business, business identification documents that list and identify authorized individuals, and current officers, owners, or other individuals authorized to open accounts and conduct financial transactions on behalf of the business.

General business identification documents may include:
  • Valid government-issued business license
  • Letter from the Secretary of State
  • Operating agreement
  • Articles of incorporation
  • Proof of legal name if doing business as (DBA) name. (DBA names differ from owner's or legal business names and are often filed with a government authority.)
For questions on specific documentation, please visit your local branch or contact the U.S. Bank Business Service Center at 800-673-3555.

If you were not an authorized signer for previously established accounts, access to online banking and mobile could be impacted. Restore access by updating the account records to reflect correct authority or through Shared Access.

For your security, it's important to know who has account ownership or authority. Authority is determined by either being a signer on the account or being delegated Shared Access by a signer.

Share access to your business accounts with employees and other trusted individuals through online banking Shared Access. Learn more about Shared Access and how to update and manage.

If you were delegated Shared Access to business accounts by someone who no longer has digital access, your access could be impacted if there isn't another Shared Access admin on that account who has the correct account authority.

If you've granted Shared Access to delegates on accounts you no longer have access to, your delegates will also lose access unless there's another eligible Shared Access admin on the account.

Yes, if someone has the appropriate digital access to the account, they can update in business online banking or the U.S. Bank Mobile App by logging in with their business user ID.

To best service your business needs, please call the U.S. Bank Business Service Center at 800-673-3555.

Most recurring and future dated payments/transfers will continue, including bill pay, internal transfers, A2A transfers, ACH, Wires and outgoing Zelle® payments/transfers. Please note that incoming Zelle® transfers to accounts without the required authority will not continue.
